Hi Guys! This is the first official post on The Suburban Stash and I wanted to talk about one of the best purchases we made for our kids.
Living in the Connecticut suburbs means that when the weather gets nice the kids need to get outside. We purchased an expensive playscape when they were little, but they quickly started to outgrow it so we needed a plan b. A trampoline was the hot new backyard toy and seemed to be what my kids needed, to bounce around for hours. We had a budget, but safety comes first, so my husband went to work on researching a safe and economical trampoline. After hours of searching with a fine tooth comb, he came across the Skywalker Jump and Dunk Trampoline on Amazon. This trampoline is 15ft in size and includes a removable basketball hoop, and zipper enclosure. It was important for it to be big enough for my girls, ages 11 and 5, and their friends (sometimes us adults too shhh) to jump and we wanted to make sure it had a zipper enclosure to secure the everyone safely inside the trampoline. Also important to note is that it is an ASTM member, which means that it Meets or Exceeds Industry Quality and Safety Standards.
The cost of the trampoline is $329 and requires you to assemble yourself. We received it in two days and it took my husband one afternoon to assemble, and trust me he is not a natural handyman. We bought some extra stakes for the ground but didn’t end up needing them.
The trampoline was purchased in 2016 and is still in excellent condition. It has withstood 3 years of very cold and wet Northeast weather conditions. The stitching and springs are all still intact and hasn’t required any maintenance. We keep it under a tree so we sometimes have to sweep off leaves and sticks but not much of an issue. It did not include a ladder so we purchased the Dura Bounce Trampoline Ladder for $31 on Amazon as well.
If a trampoline is what your suburban family is looking for, take a look at this Skwalker Jump and Dunk. It has worked extremely well for us.
Until next time!
